Construction

Building Blocks for Our Mission:

Since the inception of our first Medical Clinic in 1997, construction has played a vital role in our mission's endeavors. Our initial project involved remodeling the first combined space for the church and clinic.

Over the years, we have expanded our construction efforts to include various facilities such as churches, schools, homes, latrines, and flooring. A significant milestone was reached in 2006 when we embarked on our most crucial construction project to date in Apanas and acquired a block-making machine. This piece of equipment has enabled us to produce nearly all the blocks used in our building initiatives.

The first church we constructed from the ground up was in La Concordia. Since then, additional churches have been built in San Andres, Yali, Cacique Sasle, Jinotega, La Dalia, El Cua, San Jose Bocay, Pantasma, San Rafael, Yankae, and Las Maranos. In 2005, we undertook a remodeling project for the current mission location, which houses both the church and clinic in Jinotega.

Our educational initiatives began in 2005 with the opening of our first school in partnership with the Ministry of Education (MINED). Since that inaugural school in Attalia, we have either built or renovated over 50 schools in the Jinotega region.

Housing has always been a key focus of our construction work, whether it involves building homes from scratch, remodeling existing structures, laying floors, or adding bathrooms and kitchens. In recent years, as our number of volunteers has decreased, we have adapted by providing building materials, with families taking on the responsibility for the construction.

Each block we lay symbolizes our ongoing commitment to building a brighter future, one block at a time.
