A special thanks to Truth for Today in Searcy who gave us this month 3,000 more copies of the book “Becoming a Faithful Christian” in Spanish. Over the last seven years we have distributed over 15,000 copies of the book and now use it to give the ladies at Casa Materna with their baby bags that have been prepared before them. This book could have been titled “Where There is No Preacher” as it combined both God’s word and teaching material. Thanks to Janese Davis, Becky Brown and all the ladies at the church in Jinotega that work together to serve these ladies in the name Jesus. The books will be on the container out of Sylvan Hills in Little Rock in May.
 

We are working with Ron Cook with the Sylvan Hills Medical Missions putting together a group to come to Nicaragua, August 3 - 10. This group will be mainly a medical/evangelistic team but team members will also do some things in construction, with the Casa Materna, Hope for Life and with our schools.

Also they are staging a container of supplies for Nicaragua with the target of shipping the container in April. We are especially looking for school supplies (pens, pencils, crayons, paper, notebooks, etc.). Other items: hospital sheets, baby and children's clothes, supplies for the Casa Materna baby bags (pampers, cloth diapers, diaper pins, ladies hygiene items, small powder and lotions, bar of ivory, washcloth, baby wipes, receiving blanket, shampoo, new 0-3 month clothes), used glasses for our Sight for Sore [more...]

We look forward to starting the Instituto de Preparacion de Obreros (IPO)(Institute of Preparation of Workers) in 2013 with 6 locations in Nicaragua:  Jinotega, Waswali Prison, Chincandega, Ocatal, Rio Coco-- San Andres and La Esperanza, with over 300 students and a name change, IPONOC (Institute of Preparation of Worker North and West).  Please keep this in your prayers. Today was the leaders meeting of the different locations. As I shared with them I don't know anything we do that is more important than the work they have accept to do. Mission Para Cristo Celebrates 15 Years In Jinotega
 
On Saturday, October 27^th Misión Para Cristo celebrated 15 years in Jinotega, Nicaragua.  The mission started working with the congregation in Jinotega on October 27, 1997 with the opening of the first medical clinic as the outreach of the congregation. The morning was a time of recognition of those individuals and organizations in the community that have worked with the mission in the past.  The afternoon was a time of celebration and recognition of the mission staff and their families.  Both events were well attended.  Pictures will be on the mission photo web site soon.  Thanks to each of you who have supported the mission through the years.  Our prayer is that God will continue to bless us as we go into the future.

Just a quick update and a little history about the Mission’s Smile for a Child program. This year 7,794 Smile Boxes were shipped from the Highway church on the 23^rd of October and approximately 3,200 will be shipped from the Westgate church by the 10^th of November. 2012 is the largest participation of churches, organizations and individuals in our history. The first Smile Boxes, a total of 148, were sent to the mission in 2002. This year, 2012, we will distribute approximately 11,030 Smile Boxes to the kids in Nicaragua. Thanks to everyone who participated and made it possible for more children in Nicaragua to have a smile at Christmas.

We need your help to secure an additional 15,000 Bibles for Nicaragua. God has blessed the evangelistic effort this year in Nicaragua with 36 new brothers and sisters in the Lord. Of the 36, 27 were members of the newly established church in San Ramon. We need bibles to give to our new brothers and sisters as well as share with the lost, the good news of Jesus.
